There are many organizations working towards closing the education gap. Many are highly localized and they all implement different strategies. We all know that teachers are notoriously underpaid, and this is a result of a general lack of funding for education and education research. So, you can make a big difference by choosing to help fund these programs.

2. Volunteer.
​
You can also help close the education gap by volunteering in your community. Many public libraries offer tutoring services for local students, or you can work with school districts to find students in need. Churches and other community groups will also often coordinate tutoring sessions.

3. Teach.
​
You can most directly and powerfully impact the fight against the education gap by becoming an excellent teacher in a high-needs school. For more information on how you might get started on this route, even if you have no teaching experience, check out the following organizations:
