Bad Design

I think there are a few things wrong with this ad. First, the extra-busy background somewhat obscures the outlines of the carts and makes the text more difficult to read--even though the designer tried to remedy this by using colored text boxes.
Second, there is a lack of symmetry. The reader naturally follows the text as columns on a page, but the alignment is inconsistent and distracting.
Finally, there is too much information. An ad like this is supposed to grab attention quickly, which is hindered by too much text.
So: the designer should use a more plain background, align the text in a more coherent way (probably justified in columns), and highlight only the important information.
